A New Step for Teachers' Continuous Professional Development! 🤖✨
On January 13-14, 2025, the opening meeting of the " Artificial Intelligence Assistant and Digital Self-Assessment for Teachers' Continuing Professional Development " project took place in Ankara, bringing together project partners.
Under the coordination of the Inspection Board Presidency, project partners including LMU University of Munich (Germany), Portuguese Ministry of Education, University of Florence (Italy), University of Granada (Spain), Hacettepe University, and the Ankara Provincial Directorate of National Education participated in the meeting.
The agenda focused on the details of the digital self-assessment model that will support teachers' professional development, as well as the project management processes. Aiming to support teachers' professional growth through AI-powered tools, this project seeks to contribute to the ongoing digital transformation in education.

LTTA1: The First Training Activity of the AIDA Project Was Held in Florence
The first Learning, Teaching, and Training Activity (LTTA1) of the project Artificial Intelligence Assistant and Digital Self-Assessment for Teachers' Continuing Professional Development (AIDA), coordinated by the Presidency of the Board of Inspectors of the Ministry of National Education, was successfully completed in Florence, Italy, between 18–20 March 2025.
Hosted by the University of Florence, the training activity brought together academics, educational administrators, inspectors, and teachers from the University of Granada (Spain), Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich (Germany), the Directorate-General for Education of the Ministry of Education of Portugal, Hacettepe University, the Ankara Provincial Directorate of National Education, and the University of Florence, along with representatives from the coordinating institution.
Throughout the activity, participants shared knowledge on teacher self-assessment systems and AI-supported teacher development models, and explored successful practices implemented in various countries.
🔹 Day 1: Project partners presented the current teacher self-assessment systems in their countries. Presentations were given on AI-supported teacher development models and successful international practices.
🔹 Day 2: Participants worked on the draft version of the teacher self-assessment model developed within the AIDA Project. Discussions were held on the model’s domains, criteria, survey items, and evaluation scale, and a consensus was reached on the final version. Furthermore, detailed plans were made for activities under Work Packages 3 and 4, and the project timeline was finalized.
🔹 Day 3: Presentations focused on project management, budget planning, the quality, monitoring, and evaluation of project outputs. The dissemination plan was also reviewed. The training activity concluded with a closing and certificate ceremony.
TMP2: AIDA Project – 1st Interim Evaluation Meeting
The 1st Interim Evaluation Meeting of the AIDA Project was held in Lisbon, Portugal, on 7–8 May 2025. The meeting brought together project partners, representatives of the coordinating institution, and relevant stakeholders. Following the opening remarks, the meeting agenda was presented, participant introductions were made, and all work packages were reviewed in detail.
On the first day, under WP1, Project Coordinator Harun Göncü delivered a presentation on project management, collaboration processes, and the reporting system. It was emphasized that the executive, quality assurance, and dissemination committees established under the project are functioning efficiently, and no disruptions have been observed in the project timeline or communication among partners. It was also noted that all partners are required to submit activity and budget reports every six months. Attendance issues in TPM and LTTA events were addressed, and the outcomes of discussions with the National Agency regarding possible remedies were shared.
Under WP2, the outputs and indicators of the teacher self-assessment model were revised, with a focus on enhancing its practical applicability. The quality evaluation processes for the two main outputs were planned. In the WP3 session, the University of Granada presented the content development methodology for the AI-supported Teacher Development Assistant. It was agreed that the contents would be based on verified and official sources, and a timeline for collection, translation, and question development aligned with AI-based assessment was established. WP4 discussions focused on the development of the digital tool, dissemination efforts, and sustainability strategies, with an emphasis on adhering strictly to visibility rules.
The second day of the meeting included workshops focusing on technical aspects, quality of outputs, pilot implementation plans, and dissemination steps. Hacettepe University provided an update on its WP3 activities, followed by a closing speech by Dr. Luís Fernandes, Director General of School Administration. The meeting concluded with the presentation of certificates to participants.

LTTA2 : AIDA Project's 2nd Learning, Teaching and Training Activity (LTTA2) Held in Munich
The 2nd Learning, Teaching and Training Activity (LTTA2) of the Erasmus+ KA220-SCH project "Artificial Intelligence Assistant and Digital Self-Assessment Model for Teachers' Continuing Professional Development (AIDA)" was successfully held from 7 to 9 October 2025 in Munich, Germany, hosted by Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU).
The three-day training activity brought together researchers, academics, teachers, school leaders, inspectors and education experts from all partner organisations. Throughout the programme, participants explored innovative approaches to integrating artificial intelligence into teachers' continuing professional development while collaboratively advancing the development of the AI-Enabled Teacher Development Support Assistant and the Digital Self-Assessment Model.
The opening session was delivered by Prof. Dr. Matthias Stadler from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich together with Harun Göncü, Coordinator of the AIDA Project. Following the opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Stadler introduced the objectives of LTTA2 and presented the programme for the three-day event.
International Cooperation and Collaborative Learning
Representatives from all partner organisations participated in the activity, including Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (Germany), the University of Granada (Spain), the University of Florence (Italy), the Agency for Management of the Education System (Portugal), Hacettepe University (Türkiye), the Ankara Provincial Directorate of National Education (Türkiye) and the Presidency of the Board of Inspectors of the Ministry of National Education (Türkiye).
Throughout the programme, participants exchanged knowledge and experiences on artificial intelligence, digital innovation and teachers' continuing professional development while strengthening collaboration in the development of the project's innovative digital tools.
Designing the AI-Enabled Teacher Development Model
The first day focused on introducing key concepts and applications of artificial intelligence in education. Participants explored AI tools and discussed how intelligent technologies can support teachers' professional learning and continuous development.
Special attention was given to the project's digital content repository, the design of professional development modules and the development of the AI-Enabled Teacher Development Support Assistant. Partners worked collaboratively on improving the quality, relevance and organisation of digital learning resources that will form the knowledge base of the AI assistant, ensuring that teachers receive reliable, personalised and evidence-based recommendations for their professional growth.
AI-Supported Teacher Development Scenarios and Ethical Perspectives
The second day featured case studies, scenario-based learning activities and collaborative workshops. Participants designed AI-supported teacher development scenarios and professional learning modules while exploring practical ways of integrating artificial intelligence into teachers' continuous professional development.
The afternoon included a dedicated session on Ethical Issues in AI-Supported Education, where participants discussed data privacy, transparency, trustworthiness, responsible AI use and ethical considerations in teacher-student interaction. The session encouraged reflection on balancing technological innovation with pedagogical and ethical responsibilities.
Project Management and Sustainability Activities
The third day focused on project management activities coordinated by Harun Göncü, Project Coordinator of AIDA.
Partners reviewed project communication strategies, the implementation timeline, financial management procedures, reporting responsibilities and upcoming project milestones. Discussions also addressed quality assurance, dissemination activities and long-term sustainability to ensure the successful implementation and lasting impact of the project's outcomes.
Contributing to Digital Transformation and International Cooperation in Education
The LTTA2 activity in Munich represented another significant milestone in the AIDA Project by strengthening cooperation among partner organisations and enhancing participants' knowledge of artificial intelligence in teacher professional development.
The collaborative workshops, practical learning activities and strategic discussions contributed substantially to the development of the project's core outputs, including the Digital Self-Assessment Model and the AI-Enabled Teacher Development Support Assistant. Through continued international cooperation, the AIDA partnership remains committed to developing innovative, ethical and sustainable digital solutions that support teachers' lifelong professional learning across Europe.

TMP2: AIDA Project's Second Transnational Project Meeting Held in Florence
The Second Transnational Project Meeting (TPM2) of the Erasmus+ KA220-SCH project "AI Assistant-Supported Digital Self-Assessment Model for Teachers' Continuous Professional Development (AIDA)" was successfully held on 25–26 November 2025 in Florence, Italy, hosted by the University of Florence.
The two-day meeting brought together researchers, academics, education experts and project representatives from all partner organisations. Participants reviewed the progress achieved during the first year of the project, evaluated the current status of the project outputs and discussed the next stages in the development of the AI-Supported Teacher Professional Development Assistant and the Digital Self-Assessment Platform.
The opening session was delivered by Prof. Dr. Vanna Boffo, Head of the Department of Education, Languages, Intercultures, Literatures and Psychology at the University of Florence, together with Harun Göncü, Coordinator of the AIDA Project. Following the opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Davide Capperucci introduced the meeting agenda and provided an overview of the progress achieved and the key outcomes delivered during the first year of the project.
International Cooperation and Collaborative Development
Representatives from all partner organisations participated in the meeting, including the University of Florence (Italy), the University of Granada (Spain), Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (Germany), the Agency for Management of the Education System (Portugal), Hacettepe University (Türkiye), the Ankara Provincial Directorate of National Education (Türkiye) and the Presidency of the Board of Inspectors of the Ministry of National Education (Türkiye).
Throughout the meeting, partners reviewed the implementation of project activities, exchanged expertise on AI-supported teacher professional development and coordinated the next phase of collaborative work to ensure the successful delivery of the project's objectives.
Development of the AI-Supported Teacher Professional Development Assistant
During the technical sessions, Prof. Dr. Emilio Crisol Moya from the University of Granada presented the latest developments under Work Package 3 (WP3) concerning the design and development of the AI-Supported Teacher Professional Development Assistant.
Partners reviewed the architecture of the assistant, discussed the progress achieved, evaluated the completed deliverables and agreed on the activities to be carried out during the next implementation phase. The discussions focused on how the AI Assistant will provide personalised guidance and recommendations to support teachers' continuous professional development.
Development of the Digital Self-Assessment Platform
The afternoon session focused on Work Package 4 (WP4) and the development of the Digital Self-Assessment Platform integrated with the AI Assistant.
During this session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökhan Akçapınar from Hacettepe University presented the prototype of the AI-Supported Teacher Self-Assessment and Professional Development Platform. Participants evaluated the platform's functionality, discussed user experience, reviewed the AI-supported recommendation mechanisms and provided suggestions for further technical improvements. Partners also agreed on the implementation plan for the next phase of WP4.
Project Management and Sustainability Activities
The second day was dedicated to project management activities coordinated by Harun Göncü, Project Coordinator of AIDA.
Partners reviewed project management procedures, communication and collaboration mechanisms, implementation timelines, financial management, quality assurance, dissemination activities and long-term sustainability strategies. The consortium also confirmed responsibilities and updated the project roadmap for the upcoming implementation period.
Contributing to Digital Transformation and International Cooperation in Education
The Florence meeting represented another important milestone in the AIDA Project by strengthening collaboration among partner organisations and accelerating the development of its innovative digital solutions.
The progress achieved during the meeting significantly advanced the development of both the AI-Supported Teacher Professional Development Assistant and the Digital Self-Assessment Platform, laying a strong foundation for the pilot implementation phase. Through continued international cooperation, the AIDA consortium remains committed to developing innovative, ethical and sustainable AI-supported solutions that empower teachers' continuous professional development across Europe.

AIDA Project's 3rd Learning, Teaching and Training Activity
(LTTA3) and the 4th Transnational Project Meeting (TPM4) Held in Granada
The 3rd Learning, Teaching and Training Activity (LTTA3) and the 4th Transnational Project Meeting (TPM4) of the Erasmus+ KA220-SCH project "Artificial Intelligence Assistant and Digital Self-Assessment Model for Teachers' Continuing Professional Development (AIDA)" were successfully held from 16 to 18 June 2026 in Granada, Spain, hosted by the University of Granada (UGR).
The three-day event brought together 27 participants representing all project partner organisations, including researchers, academics, teachers, school leaders, inspectors and education experts. Throughout the meeting, partners collaborated on the development of the AI-supported teacher development model, the Digital Self-Assessment Tool, the upcoming pilot implementation and project management activities.
The opening session was delivered by Prof. Dr. Emilio Crisol Moya and Dr. Vanesa Gámiz Sánchez from the University of Granada together with Harun Göncü, Coordinator of the AIDA Project. The host institution introduced the objectives of LTTA3 and presented the programme for the three-day event.

Throughout the programme, participants exchanged experiences and good practices on integrating artificial intelligence into teachers' continuing professional development while jointly advancing the development of the AI-Enabled Teacher Development Support Assistant and the Digital Self-Assessment Model.
Development of the AI-Enabled Teacher Development Support Assistant and Pilot Implementation Process
During the first day, project partners reviewed the work completed since the previous meeting in Florence. Sessions led by Prof. Dr. Arif Altun and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökhan Akçapınar from Hacettepe University focused on the current development of the AI-enabled Teacher Development Support Assistant and the Digital Self-Assessment Software.
In the afternoon, sessions coordinated by Ankara Provincial Directorate of National Education and Hacettepe University addressed the planning of the pilot implementation process, participant selection, data collection and analysis procedures, evaluation and reporting methods, the preparation of the AI in Education Policy Recommendations Report, and preparations for the project's international conference to be organised in Ankara.
User Testing of the AI-Enabled Teacher Development Support Assistant
The second day began with presentations by researchers from the University of Granada on current studies related to artificial intelligence in education, digital transformation and teachers' professional development. During this session, Alberto Guillén, Director of CEPRUD, presented the university's work on digital innovation and AI-supported educational practices.
This was followed by hands-on training sessions on the use of the AIDA platform, led by Ankara Provincial Directorate of National Education and Hacettepe University. Participants tested the latest version of the digital self-assessment platform and the AI-enabled Teacher Development Support Assistant, evaluated user experiences, analysed teachers' feedback and proposed improvements for further development.
Later in the day, José Manuel Rodríguez Olmedo, a teacher from CEIP Tínar School (Granada), shared practical experiences on how teachers conduct self-assessment within the competence areas included in the Digital Self-Assessment Model developed by the project. The session was facilitated by the University of Granada.
Project Management and Sustainability Activities
The third day was dedicated to the 4th Transnational Project Meeting (TPM4), chaired by Harun Göncü, Project Coordinator of AIDA.
During the meeting, partners reviewed the overall progress of the project, evaluated the implementation of all work packages, discussed quality assurance procedures, financial management, dissemination activities, pilot implementation preparations and sustainability strategies. Work Package Leaders presented the achievements accomplished during the reporting period, while partners agreed on the next milestones and reviewed the project timeline to ensure the successful completion of all planned outputs.
Contributing to Digital Transformation and International Cooperation in Education
The LTTA3 and TPM4 activities held in Granada further strengthened cooperation among partner organisations and provided an excellent platform for sharing expertise and innovative practices in AI-supported teacher professional development.
The Digital Self-Assessment Model and the AI-Enabled Teacher Development Support Assistant being developed within the AIDA Project are expected to help teachers identify their professional development needs, monitor their continuous learning through evidence-based data and receive personalised recommendations for lifelong professional growth.
The AIDA partnership remains committed to developing an innovative, sustainable and collaborative European ecosystem that supports teachers' continuing professional development through the responsible and effective use of artificial intelligence.
